The American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) pioneered the CFP program to provide a framework for creating a positive practice environment for cats, including medical care that supports the cat’s unique needs and knowledgeable staff members who understand feline-friendly handling. At a CFP-designated clinic, the veterinary staff incorporates cat-friendly features into the physical environment of the practice including special waiting rooms or waiting accommodations, feline-sensitive examination rooms and ward facilities, and equipment appropriate specifically for cats. Staff members also approach cat care in a different manner. The staff learns how to understand the needs of the cat such as how to interpret a cat’s facial expression and body language. Furthermore, the staff is well-trained in alternate techniques to calm an anxious cat and ensure that exams and procedures do not escalate anxiety. Vet-Stem Regenerative Veterinary Medicine enables veterinarians to collect your dog's own stem cells from samples of their on adipose (fat) tissue. The technique allows the tissue to be collected during routine surgeries, shipped to the Vet-Stem laboratory to harvest your pet's stem cells, and either returned in three days for immediate use in your pet or stored for future use thru the life of your pet. Adult stem cell therpy is rapidly growing to be an essential component to dogs suffering from musculoskeletal disease and pain. The stems can be injected directly into joints as well as within the bloodstream to aid in the repair and restoration of functioning joints, muscle, and bone. The veterinarians of Vanguard Veterinary Hospital, PLLC. are credentialed in Vet-stem Regenerative Medicine. For more information on Vet-stem Regenerative Medicine, visit their website
