About Us
Our History:
Vanguard Veterinary Hospital, PLLC was established in 2012 with the sole purpose of performing on government contracts in working dog medicine. In spring of 2014, it expanded and opened into a full-service small animal veterinary private practice. Three months after opening to the public, Vanguard was accredited by AAHA and continues to grow by focusing on veterinary excellence in patient care and client satisfaction. Vanguard is solely owned by Dr. Dana A. Vamvakias. With an intense dedication to animal health and welfare, the entire team at Vanguard is extremely dedicated to being a top provider of current and cutting-edge diagnostics and treatment in the care of pets. Vanguard Veterinary Hospital practices with a “fear free” approach and focuses on whole body health and well-being for all of our patients. Our mission is to provide routine and advanced diagnostics, high quality medicine and complementary medical care by utilizing a combination of traditional medicine, integrative medicine, and rehabilitation therapy to the Sandhills and surrounding communities. Vanguard Veterinary Hospital is an AAHA-Accredited Hospital: Champions for Excellent Care Accreditation by AAHA means that an animal hospital has been evaluated on approximately 900 standards of veterinary excellence. To maintain their accreditation, hospitals undergo a rigorous review by veterinary experts every three years. State and provincial regulations can vary widely – in fact, some states don't routinely inspect hospitals, only going in for an inspection when a complaint is filed by a pet owner. AAHA accreditation is considered the standard for veterinary excellence, and does not vary between states or provinces (AAHA accredits hospitals in both the U.S. and Canada). Only 12-15% of animal hospitals in North America have gone through the accreditation evaluation process. Vanguard Veterinary Hospital is an AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) accredited veterinary facility. At Vanguard Veterinary Hospital, we strive to deliver excellent medical and surgical care to our patients.
